20. Mai 2008 - I sent her two beautiful photos to sign. I then saw a post that mentioned she now charges. Well . . . I got mine back today. She sent the two photos back unsigned, along with my letter, and included her letter saying that it has become necessary to charge because of the many requests she receives. What I think happened was after the success was reported there was a sudden influx of requests---a small group of us that wanted her autograph---and she thought that she was suddenly going to be buried. Or that all of a sudden her autograph was in demand. Too bad. I'm not paying $20 per photo, or $25 if she provides the pic. Lobby cards and poster are $35, specialty items $20 each (I can't afford it). Well, after word gets out, her requests are going to dwindle to nothing. Not many collectors want to pay $20-$35 per autograph---I have only come across two people in the forums in the last five months that have paid for an auto. Now if it were Marilyn Monroe, or Humphrey Bogart, or someone like that . . . I'd pay. Too bad, I would have loved to have her autograph. Mai 2008 - On May 5th i did sent a letter to Miss Fleming in order to receive her autograph. today (may 17th) my SASE was returned with a letter from her secretary, claiming there must be paid for an autograph. I can understand that some moviestars sometimes have to charge a fee for mailing and handling an autographrequest, $5 (like Joan Fontaine) to $ 10 (like Arlene Dahl) is indeed reasonable. Miss Fleming charges $20 if You sent Your own photo and $25 when she has to provide one (moreover You have to enclose a SASE Yourself). Her secretary wrote she has to do this because she receives too many requests for her autograph. Why doesn't her secretary uses a kind of database where he/she only replies to the fan after a second or third letter instead of charging money. REAL fans will write more then one letter. 8. Mai 2008 - I just love Rhonda Fleming. She signed my last request and returned them in 3 days. So I mailed her two more photos this year and her assistant sends this reply: Hello, we did receive another request from you some time last year and Ms. Fleming complied at that time. The standard letter requests $25.00 per autograph if you provide the print. Ouchhh... And I didn't know that anyone would care if you had requested an autograph more than once. This was a strange one for me and I will have to see if I want to anti the $50.00 to have both of the photos that cost me $10 to buy signed. eeek. mailed: 1/28/08 rec'd: 2/25/08
